An unexpected publicity coup for Domaine Singla in Saint-Laurent de la Salanque (66): its amber rivesaltes “Héritage du Temps” 2005 was chosen by an American TV show to accompany a special Halloween recipe.
Is it due to its amber color, evoking the autumnal colors and pumpkins that decorate all American homes and storefronts at this time of year? Or is it due to the success of Domaine Singla wines on the US market (over 2000 bottles of the 2005 vintage have been placed by the estate’s importer in numerous restaurants and wine shops in Washington, Las Vegas and San Francisco)? In any case, Domaine Singla’s amber rivesaltes “Héritage du Temps” 2005 received a welcome publicity boost from an American TV show.
On October 25, NBC’s “The Today Show”, broadcast every Sunday between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m., featured an original “Halloween special” recipe (see here) made from the 2005 rivesaltes “Héritage du Temps”. This cuvée was chosen by the production team following rave reviews in American magazines (Eater, Forbes).
Laurent de Besombes Singla is delighted with this new emphasis on 2005: “In the early days, we particularly appealed to Americans with the old vintages of the Réserve Familiale: 1945, 1949, 1951, 1969, 1976, 1980. When I was on tour in the USA, I even found our 1945 Rivesaltes on the menu of Guy Savoy’s restaurant in Las Vegas at $150 a glass! A great American story…
